I HEAR COMMERCIALS FOR CIGARETTES AND ALCOHOL!
WIWS management has no issues with these things, although Ray doesn't smoke as much as he did in 1957.
THERE ARE SOME RECORDS THAT AREN'T APPROPRIATE NOW!
Yes, there are. If there are songs playing that espouse stereotypes (and there will be) they are here because they were sizable hits at the time. WIWS doesn't believe these are necessarily appropriate, either, but is playing them for historical context.
IF I WANTED TO LISTEN TO LOW-FI MONO I'D CUT OFF AN EAR!
Go right ahead. WIWS allows you to escape to the sound of vintage AM radio that we think it's time to bring it back, complete with static. Keep your ear and listen to Spotify, instead.
WIWS PLAYED THE STEREO ALTERNATE TAKE OF "LIPS THAT QUIVER" BY THE PUCKER-UPS! THAT WASN'T AVAILABLE UNTIL 1997!
All the DJs are very old and very forgetful, please forgive them.
The majority of material heard on WIWS is vintage, and is presented entirely in a historical context. Certain musical selections and commercials may espouse ideologies, stereotypes and/or lifestyle choices that are no longer considered safe, appropriate or relevant, so listener discretion is strongly advised. Additionally, content heard during the Just A Minute helpful-hints type segments may especially contain advice or suggestions that may no longer be safe if followed as recorded. Again, please exercise judgement in following any tips or recommendations heard in the 50-plus year old recorded material heard on WIWS. The listener assumes all responsibility for, and Ray Ford Enterprises disclaims responsibility for, any damages alleged to have occurred in relation to or arising out of the use or receipt of such information heard on WIWS.
